The Post-Delivery Care Package, traditionally known as Sutika Paricharya, is a fully personalised postpartum recovery programme spanning roughly the forty-five-day postpartum period. It is designed to nurture and restore the mother after childbirth, combining several core therapies that are tailored to her delivery type and breastfeeding needs.
Following a free pre-package consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor, the programme draws on customised core therapies including Abhyangam (oil massage), Kizhi (herbal poultice), Kashaya Dhaara (herbal pouring), Mukha Lepam (herbal face pack), Sirodhara (head pouring) and Udara Veshtanam (abdominal wrapping).
What this therapy supports
- Helps the uterus shrink and tones the abdominal muscles
- Relieves lower backache, joint stiffness and breastfeeding shoulder pain
- Calms the nervous system and reduces stress for better sleep
- Boosts digestion
- Improves breast-milk quality and supply
The session, step by step
Free pre-package consultation
A free consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor assesses the mother's health, delivery type and breastfeeding needs to tailor the programme.
Abhyangam and Kizhi
Customised oil massage (Abhyangam) and herbal poultice (Kizhi) help ease the body and relieve aches.
Kashaya Dhaara and Sirodhara
Herbal pouring (Kashaya Dhaara) and head pouring (Sirodhara) calm the nervous system and support rest.
Mukha Lepam
A herbal face pack (Mukha Lepam) is applied as part of the nurturing care.
Udara Veshtanam
Abdominal wrapping (Udara Veshtanam) supports the abdomen and helps tone the muscles.
This package is tailored individually, and a mandatory free pre-package consultation determines the safe herbs and therapies based on the mother's health and breastfeeding. It is generally avoided during acute illness or active infection. For this reason it cannot be booked online; an enquiry and a free consultation with our Ayurveda Vaidya come first.
