Virechana (Metabolic Cleansing)
A medically supervised Panchakarma procedure using herbs and oils to eliminate toxins (ama) and excess Pitta via the GI tract. Requires a mandatory Vaidya consultation and medical screening — enquiry only.
Virechana is a medically supervised Panchakarma procedure that uses specific herbs and oils to systematically eliminate toxins (Ama) and excess Pitta through the gastrointestinal tract. It begins with a multi-day preparation phase designed to loosen and mobilise toxins within the body.
Once the body is prepared, customised herbal compounds are used to induce controlled purgation that deeply cleanses the liver, gallbladder and small intestine, restoring balance from within.

Consultation and screening
A Vaidya consultation, with possible medical screening, determines whether the procedure is appropriate for you.
Preparation phase
A multi-day preparation phase is carried out to loosen and mobilise toxins throughout the body.
Customised herbal compounds
Herbal compounds are tailored to your needs to prepare for the cleansing stage.
Controlled purgation
Controlled purgation is induced to deeply cleanse the liver, gallbladder and small intestine.
Supervised recovery
The process is closely supervised throughout to support a balanced return to normal routine.
Virechana is a medically supervised procedure and must never be undertaken without a Vaidya consultation. It should be avoided during pregnancy, in cases of extreme weakness, in the very young or elderly, during acute fevers, severe diarrhoea, or intestinal obstruction. For these reasons it cannot be booked online; a mandatory consultation with our Ayurveda Vaidya, and possible medical screening, come first.
