Abhyangam with Njavara Kizhi (Full Body)
Ayurvedic oil massage with application of njavara rice and milk on the full body. Strengthens joints, muscles and nerves and rejuvenates the body. Practitioner consultation required.
Classically known as Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda, this comprehensive therapy follows an Abhyangam oil massage with warm boluses of Njavara medicinal rice cooked in a decoction of Bala (Sida cordifolia) root and rich cow's milk. The boluses are massaged firmly so that the creamy medicinal starch squeezes onto the skin.
It is an extraordinarily luxurious, soft and intensely nourishing experience, as the warm milk-soaked rice poultices glide along the muscles and form a deep nutrient mask before being wiped clean.
